Snowy Christmas?

Last Week: Untitled Today: Untitled I'm currently busy with preparing for Christmas. So many Christmas-presents to knit and crochet. Meanwhile, the snow gets higher and higher. Even my short walk to work is an adventure by now. But it adds to my christmas mood. How are you preparing for Christmas? Foxy Greetings!

I hope everyone out there is celebrating the 1st Advent! I was at the Christkindlmarkt in Munich yesterday and took a lot of pictures.
But it turns out my picture upload maximum here is reached. So I have to figure out a way to keep posting pictures.
Well, see you soon!

Shops in Japan

Hello there,
november really is the most depressing month in Germany. Grey, grey and grey everywhere. No sun, no blue, no colors. Japan on the other hand...
Let's have a look on more colorful places: shops in Japan!

a) Shop for tourists in downtown Asakusa, Tokyo. New Tokyo Sky tree, Godzilla and the last Samurai Sakamoto Ryoma.
b) Totally mind-boggling camera store in Asakusa.
c) Abacus store - I never knew that there existed one.
d) Run down Japanese restaurant.
e) Crazy cake bakery at Kyoto station.
f) Fresh Fish booth at Kyoto market street Nishiki.
g) Kyoto market street Nishiki.
h) Japanese pickles.
i) Dango (a japanese sweet) store.
j) Coffee store. (I just love the Taisho-atmosphere of this store.)
k) Pottery. Around Kiyomizu temple you can find a lot of potters and good japanese ceramic.
l) Tourist stores in Nara near Todaiji temple. With deer! (Roaming about freely.)
m) Japanese sweets store in downtown Nara.
n) Store for calligraphy supply in downtown Nara. Obviously there are a lot of stores in Nara which sell brushes, ink and paper.
o) ...like this.
p) Japanese sweets again.
q) Japanese antiquities.
r) One of my favorites: Japanese tea store.
s) Shopping street in Osaka at night.

I hope you like pictures from Japan - still have lots of them.
Soon it's time for preparing for Christmas. Have you been crafting lately? Will post about my ideas next weekend. Till then have a nice week!

Foxy Greetings!

Japan 2nd trip: Tokyo

The second trip was almost - but not quite - the same as the first one. The group of customers was larger, though and hence we had to use two buses. We started the week off in Tokyo, proceeded to Kyoto via Shinkansen (Yeah!) - even spent two nights in a row in the same hotel in Kyoto! - went to Nara and then to Iga and Osaka. What a week! (Again.)

a) Traffic in Tokyo is no fun, I can tell you. Instead of being stuck at one of the highways I would always recommend traveling by subway.
b) I like all big cities with lot of waterways throughout the city. Tokyo totally doesn't disappoint in this respect.
c) Toyko firemen doing drills.
d) Chrysanthemum exhibition at Asakusa Temple in downtown Tokyo.
e) Koi at Asakusa Temple.
f) View from my hotel room at night. (Building at the left side belongs to my hotel, too.)
g) The same view at daylight.

Japan, the second trip

Hi there, I'm checked in again and will be off to Japan for the second time this year tomorrow.
Will be back in one weeks time with new pictures! Have a great week.

Snowing nights

Winter came early this year. It is already way too cold and uncomfortable. Fortunately, I'll leave for Japan very soon and the temperatures there are still above 20° C during daytime.

I'm quite smitten with my new camera. Pictures at nighttime usually were a no-go with my compact camera.

MORE Magazine November 2012

It's time to have a look at the november issue of MORE magazine - the japanese magazine for women in their 20's. By the way, the november issue comes out in late september, not october. At the end of october the december issue comes out, at the end of november the issue for january. (Somehow the picture refused to be turned in any direction. Very odd. Pictures were taken with the Lumix Superzoom, borrowed from my mum.)

I totally adore Japanese fashion. Alas - I couldn't wear most of it. And remember - this is the november issue, when it's also getting colder in Japan. But Japan has a Pacific coast and milder climate. We're in Germany would freeze to death possibly, wearing skirts and mini pants like that.

Battle: Skirt team vs. Pants team! Which team are you? I'm member of Pants team. Would like to wear more skirts...but I'm not brave enough... ;)

How to wear the right jacket for the right body height. Really good idea. Can't remember if a German magazine ever did that.

Outfit coordination lesson! I like the bags...

Cute layout!

Cute hairstyles! Need to try the one with the ribbon.

Oh Good, lipsticks are my drugs! Take this page away...(I just got a MAC lipstick for free as I returned 6 empty MAC cosmetic packages to the MAC counter. It's called "Back to MAC" and is a really great marketing strategy.)

Obviously this season smudged eye lines are en vogue in Japan.

What do you think of Japanese fashion magazines? I bought three other magazines during my visit in Japan - especially two for women in their 30s (as I'll be turning 30 next year). We'll have a look on them soon.

Enjoy Halloween!

Bo-dhi-licious!

Bo dhi - our newest family member - is super fluffy cute. He likes to chew on everything. And got quite the shock of his young life when my mom found him chewing on some shoes of her. I guess she screamed her head off. Since then he is quite content with chewing on his cuddle toys.

Golden October

The weekend after coming back from my first Japan trip, I was very eager to use my new camera - a Sony Nex C3. It was beautiful weather and I can't remember the last time we had such an Indian summer. Oh the colors! Especially the warm golden yellow everywhere around me in the forest. Other wanderers with cameras greeted me with a "Searching for good pictures?".

And now,  one week later, it snows and looks like Christmas outside! Everything is white. And it is cold which is why I need to get back to my knit and crochet projects. Will take pictures of that, too.

Foxy Greetings!
