29 on the 29th

So today is my birthday and I'm turning 29! What an age - how could time just go by so fast?
I still remember my childhood days when this day was THE day I had been waiting for since Christmas. Presents would be mine to unpack! Cake would be served and all attention would belong to me. Friends would come over to play silly games and maybe even sleep over.
And it was most certainly summer at last! My birthdays (almost) never disappointed me with bad weather.

So let's hope for today!

Greetings.

Thunder Storms and Bell Flowers.

I'm back from a lovely vacation at the baltic sea. I even went swimming a few times. The first time was very cold (14°C), the second with lots of waves and the third was quite the right amount of freshness.

Now it's back to work and summer thunderstorms.

North and South

Yesterday I drove back home late in the evening. Today I spent a nice day walking my dog and preparing for driving north, north to spent a week at the seaside. South, south is what this picture shows. ;)

By the way, I love Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South. Too sad we never really learned much about British literature (or any foreign literature) in School. All was about Goethe, Schiller, Heine, Thomas and Heinrich Mann, Fontane. Oh wait - I forgot Shakespeare. But that was it. Not even Jane Austen.

Well, of course schools can never teach everything. So stay interested and learn new things by yourself. Everyday.

I learned today that a lot of tadpoles clinging to your hand and feeding of your dead skin cells feel really, really funny. You should try this if you find a pond with tadpoles in it.

So far, have a great evening!

Current occupations

Another weekend comes to a close and I'm washing my clothes for the weeks to come. Yes, weeks as in next week I'll be on vacation. Actually starting from this week thursday I'll be on my way.
After almost half a year of full-time work I'm really looking forward to one long and totally earned week of time off at the seaside.

Last week, work has been absolutely unbelievable. All colleagues left one after another for vacation themselves and finally I ended up totally alone with my bosses. Very interesting experience.

On Saturday I ventured out into the unknown again. To see places and streets of munich I hadn't seen yet. Pictures will follow.
It seems to become tradition for me to go to the movie theater after a long walk in the city. (As you know I don't actually live in Munich. Sadly, I live one hour outside the city in the countryside. Which is nice, too. ) So this time I watched Snow White and the Huntsman. It was an okay movie, but reminded me a lot of another Snow White movie from a long, long time ago. (Snow White - A Tale of Terror.)
Last week I watched MIB III, which really was a blast (from the past?!).

Sadly, I'm doing all this alone. I never had problems meeting people at new places before, but obviously working full-time isn't helping a lot.

But well, it will happen. Sometime. So long I'm quite happy with myself and my adventures.

Greetings!
